Title: “Finding Peace in the Storm”

Devotional for “Peace, Be Still”

Opening Prayer:

Heavenly Father, as we meditate on Your Word and reflect on the message of “Peace, Be Still,” open our hearts to the tranquility and strength found in Your presence. Guide us through this time of devotion and speak to us in the stillness. Amen.

Scripture Reading:

Mark 4:35-41 Reflect on the account of Jesus calming the storm. Imagine the disciples’ fear and Jesus’ commanding peace.

Reflection:

“Peace, Be Still” is more than a song; it’s a reminder of the power of faith in the midst of life’s tempests. The lyrics begin with “Whispered doubts in the dead of night,” painting a picture of internal struggle and turmoil, much like the disciples who were caught in a violent storm.

In our lives, storms come in many forms: challenges, worries, and uncertainties that stir up fear and doubt. Yet, in the midst of these storms, the song invites us to proclaim, “Peace, Be still,” echoing Jesus’ words. This chorus is a call to trust in God’s sovereignty, to believe that He is in control even when our circumstances seem overwhelming.

Verse 2 reminds us that in the quiet and stillness, God’s truth is revealed. His Word heals our hearts and calms our fears. The bridge, “In every trial, His grace I find,” reassures us that God’s grace is sufficient in every situation, guiding and comforting us.

As the song concludes, “In the stillness, His voice I hear,” it invites us to listen for God’s voice. Often, it’s in the moments of quiet and surrender that we hear Him most clearly. His words bring peace and reassurance, reminding us that we are in His care.

Personal Reflection:

Take a moment to reflect on the storms in your life. Where do you need to proclaim, “Peace, Be still”? How can you find stillness and listen for God’s voice today?

Closing Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your presence that brings peace to our storms. Help us to trust in You, to find stillness in Your love, and to remember that You are always in control. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Lyrics

Peace, Be Still

Verse 1:

Whispered doubts in the dead of night,
Shadows dancing, a restless fight.
Temptations rise, a stormy sea,
Within my mind, a silent plea.

Chorus:

“Peace, Be still,” I say to the raging wave, (Storm)
“Peace, Be still,” and find the strength to save.
In the storm, a whispered prayer,
Peace descends, I’m in His care.

Verse 2:

In the quiet, a truth revealed,
By His word, my heart is healed.
The tempest bows to a higher call,
In His presence, my fears fall.

Chorus:

“Peace, Be still,” I say to the raging wave, (Storm)
“Peace, Be still,” and find the strength to save.
In the storm, a whispered prayer,
Peace descends, I’m in His care.

Bridge:

In every trial, His grace I find,
A guiding light, to the blind.
His love, a harbor, safe and sound,
In Him, my peace is found.

Chorus:

“Peace, Be still,” I say to the raging wave, (Storm)
“Peace, Be still,” and find the strength to save.
In the storm, a whispered prayer,
Peace descends, I’m in His care.

Outro:

In the stillness, His voice I hear,
“Be still, my child, and have no fear.”
The storm obeys, at His command,
In His love, I firmly stand.

Chorus:

“Peace, Be still,” I say to the raging wave, (Storm)
“Peace, Be still,” and find the strength to save.
In the storm, a whispered prayer,
Peace descends, I’m in His care.
