Aronic Blessing

Adonai said to Moshe, “Speak to Aharon and his sons, and tell them that this is how you are to bless the people of Isra’el: you are to say to them:

יברכך ה’ וישמרך

The Lord bless you and keep you

יאר ה’ פניו אליך ויחנך

The Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you

ישא ה’ פניו אליך וישם לך שלום

The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace

HEBREW (transliterated):

Y’va-reh-ch’cha Adonai v’yeesh-m’reh-cha.

ENGLISH:

May the Lord bless you and keep you;
May the Lord shine His face upon you and be gracious unto you;
May the Lord manifest His presence to you and give you peace.
“In this way they are to put my name on the people of Isra’el,
so that I The Lord will bless them.”

The Lords prayer

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

The Birkat Hamazon, also known as the Grace After Meals

  1. Birkat Hazan:
    • “Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who nourishes the whole world in goodness, with grace, kindness, and mercy. He gives food to all flesh, for His kindness is everlasting. And through His great goodness we have never lacked, nor will we lack food forever, for the sake of His great Name. For He is God who nourishes and sustains all, and does good to all, and prepares food for all His creatures which He created. Blessed are You, Lord, who nourishes all.”
  2. Birkat Ha’aretz:
    • “Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, for the land and for the sustenance. For the covenant that You sealed in our flesh, and for the Torah that You taught us, and for the statutes that You made known to us, for life, grace, and kindness that You granted us, and for the provision of food with which You nourish and sustain us at all times, every day, at every hour, and at every moment.”
  3. Birkat Yerushalayim:
    • “Have mercy, Lord our God… on Israel Your people, on Jerusalem Your city, on Zion the abode of Your glory, on the monarchy of the House of David Your anointed, and on the great and holy House upon which Your Name is called. Our God, our Father, shepherd us, nourish us, sustain us, support us, and relieve us; and speedily, Lord our God, grant us relief from all our troubles…”
  4. Birkat Hatov Vehameitiv:
    • “Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, the good One who does good. The good One, for His mercies are not exhausted; the One who does good, for His kindnesses are not finished; forever we have hoped in Him.”
