From Failure to Foundation
In Matthew 16:18, Yeshua says to Simon, “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” This was a transformative moment for Simon. The name “Peter” means “rock,” symbolizing stability and strength. Yet, we know Peter was anything but stable in the early days of his discipleship. He was impulsive, often speaking or acting before thinking, and he even denied Yeshua three times. But Yeshua saw beyond Peter’s failures to the leader he would become.
