Learning to discern the right yes in ministry means seeking God’s wisdom for every opportunity. Sometimes, saying yes to God’s call requires courage to say no to things that distract us from His will. Through the stories of Mary and Martha and the encouragement of Ephesians 5, you will discover how to walk wisely, making decisions rooted in God’s love and direction. By trusting the Lord with your heart and asking for His wisdom, you’ll learn to choose the best path, faithfully stewarding your time and energy. As you grow in discernment, God will empower you to say yes to what truly matters, and to find joy in fulfilling His calling for your life.

Learning Objectives

This module trains learners to discern their assignments carefully and say “yes” only to God’s specific callings. Students will learn to set healthy boundaries, prioritize Kingdom mandates, and avoid being overburdened by good opportunities that are not their true assignments. By mastering this discernment, leaders will maximize their spiritual fruitfulness and avoid distraction and exhaustion.
  • Discern which opportunities align with God’s calling and which do not.
  • Practice saying faithful “yeses” and courageous “no’s” to steward time and energy well.
