About This Song

“A Name Written on Stone” reflects the promise found in Revelation 2:17, where Yeshua declares that to those who overcome, He will give “a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.” This song explores the deeply personal nature of our relationship with God—how He knows us intimately and gives us a unique identity in Him. It’s a reminder that our worth is not defined by the world, but by the One who calls us His own.

The orchestral arrangement begins with soft flutes and gentle strings, creating a reflective, intimate atmosphere. As the song progresses, swelling strings and subtle percussion mirror the journey of transformation—from our old identity to the new name written by God’s hand. The chorus becomes a declaration of this personal connection: a name written by grace, a story of love that only He fully understands.

This track speaks to the heart of every believer who has struggled with identity, worth, or belonging. It reminds us that in Yeshua, we are given a new name, a new purpose, and a new destiny. The world may try to label us, but God’s name for us is eternal and unchanging. As the song builds to its crescendo, listeners are invited to embrace this truth and walk confidently in the identity that God has given them. “A Name Written on Stone” is a song of hope, transformation, and the unshakable promise that we are known and loved by our Creator.

Devotional: A Name Written on Stone

Inspired by Revelation 2:17 and the song “A Name Written on Stone”

In the quiet place—where distractions fade and only the Spirit remains—you hear it. Not a shout. Not a command. But a whisper.

Your name.

Not the one the world gave you. Not the one tied to your failures, your family, your fears.

But the name that only Yeshua knows.

“To the one who overcomes… I will give a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, which no one knows except him who receives it.”

— Revelation 2:17

This is the heartbeat of A Name Written on Stone. The orchestral swell of the music reflects a journey from hiddenness to belonging. And in that journey, we’re reminded: our identity is not a result of performance—it is the result of grace.

You Are Called by Name

Isaiah 43:1 gives this resounding declaration:

“Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.”

In a world eager to define us by roles or labels, God says: “You are Mine.”

Yeshua doesn’t generalize His love. He personalizes it. Just as He called Lazarus from the grave by name, He calls each of us from spiritual obscurity into beloved identity.

This name—the one written on your stone—is sacred. It’s not earned. It’s revealed. It’s yours alone. And it reflects not who you’ve been, but who He sees you becoming.

You Are Not Alone

One of the most beautiful lines in the song says:

“On a stone, my name is known; in Your heart, I’m not alone.”

Psalm 139:15–16 paints a picture of a Creator intimately involved in our story:

“Your eyes saw my unformed body… all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.”

This name, written by God, reminds you that you are not forgotten—not in the chaos of life, not in your secret tears, not in your seasons of silence. He knows. He sees. He remembers.

Lay Down Pride. Receive Grace.

The second verse invites a posture of surrender:

“I lay down pride, confess my ways; Your mercy meets me in this place.”

We can’t carry our old identity into the promises of God. Like Jacob becoming Israel, or Saul becoming Paul, there is a holy exchange when we finally bow in surrender.

The pride that says, “I have to figure it out” must fall. The fear that says, “I am not enough” must be silenced. Because when we come empty-handed, His mercy fills every gap.

Exodus 33:17 holds this stunning truth:

“You have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.”

You Are Named to Intercede

This song doesn’t stop with personal revelation—it moves outward:

“For the lost who seek their place, reveal their names through endless grace.”

As worshippers, we are not just recipients of grace—we are carriers of it. Once we’ve been called by name, we begin to pray for others to hear their name too.

Who in your life needs to know they are seen? Loved? Called? As an intercessor, you stand in that gap. You call forth identity. You agree with heaven until their stone is revealed too.

Reflection

Take a moment to pause and invite the Holy Spirit to speak.

  • What names or labels are you still carrying that God never gave you?

  • Where is He calling you to lay down pride and receive mercy?

  • Who needs your intercession today—that they may hear their name from His voice?

Prayer

El Shaddai, the name divine,

You are the One who calls me by a name no one else knows.

Today I release every false name I’ve worn—failure, shame, not enough.

I receive the name You’ve written for me, hidden in love and sealed by grace.

Call the lost through my prayers. Draw them to their true identity.

And let my life echo the truth:

“I am Yours, and You are mine.”

Amen.

A Name Written on Stone

Series: The Name Above All Names – Message 3

Key Scripture: Revelation 2:17

Theme: Divine Identity, Prophetic Naming, Intimacy with Yeshua

Introduction: The Name Only He Knows

We live in a world full of names and labels—some given in love, others shaped by pain. But Revelation 2:17 unveils a deeper truth:

“To the one who overcomes… I will give a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, which no one knows except the one who receives it.”

This is not symbolic fluff—it’s a spiritual reality. A new name written by Yeshua Himself. A name forged in love, sealed by grace, and known only to you and the One who gave it.

Today, we explore what it means to be called by name—not by the world, but by God. This message flows as part of the The Name Above All Names series, and draws us into the Spirit-filled heart of the song A Name Written on Stone.

Point 1:

God Names You According to His Purpose, Not Your Past

“A name You’ve written, just for me…”

– A Name Written on Stone

In Scripture, names carry weight—they represent identity, destiny, and divine intention. Abram became Abraham (Genesis 17:5), Sarai became Sarah, Simon became Peter. Their names changed not because God needed new labels, but because their callings had shifted.

Isaiah 43:1 declares:

“Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art Mine.”

When the Lord names you, it’s not based on your failures or accomplishments—it’s based on His purpose. You are not what you’ve done. You are who He says you are.

Activation:

Pause and ask:

  • What names have you internalized that God never spoke?

  • Are you still living under labels of shame, fear, or striving?

Today, lay them down. Your name is not Failure. It is not Forgotten. It is Mine, says the Lord.

Point 2:

Your New Name Is Intimate, Hidden, and Eternal

The white stone in Revelation represents personal invitation. It’s not mass-produced. It’s not shared. It is personal, sacred, and eternal.

Psalm 139:15–16 reminds us:

“All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.”

And John 10:3-4 says:

“He calls His own sheep by name, and leads them out… for they know His voice.”

He doesn’t shout at crowds—He whispers to hearts. This name isn’t a title you wear publicly. It’s a communion you share privately. A knowing gaze from your Shepherd that says: “You are Mine.”

The song puts it beautifully:

“On a stone, my name is known. In Your heart, I’m not alone.”

Reflection:

  • Do you believe that you are truly seen and known by Yeshua?

  • Have you been hiding behind roles, achievements, or ministry, longing for someone to truly know you?

Let His Spirit minister to the places you’ve felt invisible. You are not alone.

Point 3:

You Are Named to Intercede for Others

This song doesn’t end with self-discovery—it ends with intercession.

“For the lost who seek their place, reveal their names through endless grace.”

Exodus 33:17 records God’s heart for Moses:

“You have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.”

But Moses didn’t keep that intimacy to himself. He stood in the gap for Israel.

In the same way, when you know you’re named, you become a name-bearer—an intercessor. You pray for others to find what you’ve found: the whisper of the Shepherd calling their true name.

Your identity becomes your ministry. You stand in prayer until their identity is revealed. You break off lies, speak destiny, and call home the wandering.

Activation:

  • Who in your life needs to know they are seen and named by God?

  • Speak their name before the Lord today.

  • Prophesy their purpose. Intercede until their white stone is placed in their hand.

Conclusion: Known Forever, Saved Forever

The final lyric declares:

“Blessed be the name You gave, forever known, forever saved.”

This is the cry of the redeemed: not only that we are saved from sin, but that we are known by God. Our name—our true, eternal name—is etched in love.

You are not a number.

You are not overlooked.

You are not who the world says you are.

You are known.

Named.

Held.

Chosen.

And one day, when all is said and done, Yeshua will press into your palm a white stone… and on it will be written the name He’s been whispering all along.

Prayer

Yeshua, our Shepherd and King,

Thank You that I am not forgotten.

Thank You that You have called me by name and written it in love.

Today, I release every false label I’ve worn.

I receive the name You’ve spoken over me from eternity.

And I ask—use me to call others.

Let my life, my prayer, my song be an echo of heaven:

“You are known. You are loved. You are His.”

Amen.

A Name Written on Stone

Series: The Name Above All Names

Theme: Identity, Intimacy, and Intercession

Length: Approx. 600–800 words

Host Tone: Conversational, prophetic, worshipful

[Cue gentle intro music]

Welcome, friends, to this special episode in our podcast series The Name Above All Names. I’m so glad you’ve joined me today—whether you’re walking, journaling, or just needing a quiet space with the Lord.

Today’s episode centers on a song that’s deeply personal. It’s called A Name Written on Stone, and it draws from the mystery and promise found in Revelation 2:17—that to those who overcome, Yeshua will give a white stone with a new name, known only to the one who receives it.

This isn’t just poetic language—it’s an invitation to intimacy.

🌿 The Name Only He Knows

Have you ever wondered if God truly sees you? Not just as one of many—but personally, deeply?

In this song, the lyric says:

“A name You’ve written, just for me, a mark of love, eternally.”

That name isn’t the one the world gave you. It’s not the label that came through trauma or success or even ministry. It’s the name Yeshua speaks over you in love. A name no one else can give.

Isaiah 43:1 says,

“I have redeemed you. I have called you by name. You are Mine.”

And friend, that’s enough.

[Instrumental swell]

🙏 Reflection Moment

Let’s pause for a second.

What names are you still carrying that didn’t come from God?

Is it failure? Not enough? Overlooked?

What if today is the day you release them?

Take a deep breath.

Let those labels fall.

Now ask the Holy Spirit:

“What name are You whispering over me today?”

[Soft piano interlude]

🕊️ You Are Not Alone

Another powerful lyric says:

“On a stone, my name is known. In Your heart, I’m not alone.”

Psalm 139 reminds us that every day of our life was written before one of them came to be. Yeshua hasn’t lost track of your story. He’s not late. He hasn’t forgotten you.

You are not alone in the waiting.

You are not invisible in the crowd.

You are not abandoned in your season of silence.

You are known—by name, by heart, by Heaven.

🛐 From Identity to Intercession

This song doesn’t stop at personal identity—it moves us toward intercession.

“For the lost who seek their place, reveal their names through endless grace.”

Beloved, once you know your name, you become a name-bearer for others. You begin to pray differently. You don’t just ask for healing—you ask for destiny to be unlocked.

Like Moses, who was known by name (Exodus 33:17), you become someone who stands in the gap, crying out for others to discover their God-given identity.

💡 Prophetic Pause:

Who is God putting on your heart right now?

Say their name out loud.

Pray this:

“Lord, reveal their name. Call them out of shame. Whisper their destiny.”

[Instrumental swell builds]

💬 Final Encouragement

The final line of the song is this:

“Blessed be the name You gave, forever known, forever saved.”

Let that be your declaration today.

You are not just saved—you are named.

You are not just redeemed—you are restored.

And that white stone?

It’s not just a promise of heaven.

It’s a reminder that Heaven already knows your name.

🙌 Prayer

[Soft outro music]

El Shaddai, the Name Divine—

You are the One who calls me by the name no one else knows.

Today I surrender every false identity I’ve clung to.

I receive the name You’ve written on my stone.

Let it reshape my heart.

Let it lead my prayers.

Let it become a testimony to the world:

“I am Yours, and You are mine.”

Amen.

Thanks for spending this time with me. If this message spoke to your heart, take a moment this week to journal your response—or even share this episode with someone who needs to be reminded that they are known.

Until next time, walk in the name He gave you.

[Cue soft outro music]
