Scripture:
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.” – Matthew 5:9
Reflection:
In a world often torn apart by conflict and division, Jesus pronounces a blessing on the peacemakers. These are not merely those who live in peace, but those who actively work to create peace, reconciling and restoring relationships, and bringing the peace of God’s kingdom to every corner of the earth. Being a peacemaker is a divine calling, reflecting the heart of God Himself, the ultimate Peacemaker. This Beatitude reminds us that in our efforts to sow peace, we resemble our Father in heaven and are recognized as His children.
Understanding Peacemaking:
Peacemaking is not just the absence of conflict; it’s the presence of righteousness and justice. It’s an active pursuit of reconciliation, where broken relationships are restored through the love and truth of Christ. Peacemakers are those who not only live in peace but also spread peace, addressing conflicts with the wisdom and love that come from God. It’s a challenging path, often requiring sacrifice, humility, and a deep reliance on God’s guidance.
The Identity of God’s Children:
To be called children of God is to receive an identity that shapes our entire being. As His children, we are called to reflect His character, and one of the most profound attributes of God is His peace. In becoming peacemakers, we align ourselves with God’s will, bring healing to a broken world, and testify to the transformative power of His kingdom. This identity is not earned by our peacemaking efforts but is a gift of grace that empowers us to carry out this divine calling.
Application:
Consider areas in your life or community where there is conflict or division. How might you act as a peacemaker, bringing the peace and reconciliation of God’s kingdom to these situations? Seek to cultivate a spirit of peace in your own heart through prayer, forgiveness, and a deepening relationship with God. Remember, peacemaking often starts small, in our daily interactions and relationships.
Prayer:
Lord God, Prince of Peace, empower me to be a peacemaker in this world. Help me to reflect Your heart of reconciliation and love in all that I do. Give me the courage to address conflict with grace and truth, the humility to seek forgiveness when needed, and the wisdom to bring Your healing peace to every situation. Thank You for calling me Your child, and help me to live out this identity by being an agent of Your peace. In the name of Jesus, the ultimate Peacemaker, Amen.
This devotion is designed to encourage and guide you in the divine calling of peacemaking. As you embrace this calling, may you experience the profound joy and blessing of being recognized as a child of God, reflecting His peace in a world that so desperately needs it.

Song Lyrics
Peacemakers’ Anthem – Children of God
Verse 1:
In the whispers of the wind, where conflicts end,
I hear the call to be a peacemaker.
With every step I tread, let Your peace be spread,
For in each act of peace, we see our Maker.
Chorus:
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called,
Children of the living God, in His love enthralled.
In every word of unity, in every reconciled feud,
They’re crafting peace with holy lewd.
Verse 2:
In the chaos of our times, in the clashing chimes,
Let me be a vessel of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there’s injury, pardon be the release.
Chorus:
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called,
Children of the living God, in His love enthralled.
In every word of unity, in every reconciled feud,
They’re crafting peace with holy lewd.
Bridge:
For every broken heart, for every torn apart,
Let us bring the balm of Gilead’s peace.
As Your children, let us rise, opening blinded eyes,
To the harmony of heaven that never ceases.
Verse 3:
So, I’ll walk the extra mile, with a reconciling smile,
In the footsteps of the Prince of Peace.
For in the art of making peace, we find our own release,
In the family of God, where all strifes cease.
Chorus:
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called,
Children of the living God, in His love enthralled.
In every word of unity, in every reconciled feud,
They’re crafting peace with holy lewd.
Outro:
In the calling of the peacemakers, there’s a holy name,
Children of God, with a heritage of peace to claim.
Blessed, oh blessed, are those who make peace soar,
For they are God’s children, now and forevermore.
Peacemakers’ Anthem – Kinder Gottes
Strophe 1:
Chorus:
Strophe 2:
In den Wirren unserer Zeit, im Lärm der Streitigkeit,
Lass mich ein Gefäß deines Friedens sein.
Wo Hass herrscht, lass Liebe blüh’n,
Wo Verletzung ist, bring’ Verzeihung hin.
Chorus:
Chorus:

Surmon Notes
✝️ SERMON TITLE:
“The Children Who Carry Peace”
Text: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” — Matthew 5:9
Theme: Peacemaking is not avoidance of conflict, but Spirit-empowered reconciliation — the mark of those who bear the name of the Father.
🕊️ INTRODUCTION: Not Peacekeepers, But Peacemakers
Yeshua did not say, “Blessed are the peaceful.”
He didn’t say, “Blessed are the agreeable.”
He said:
“Blessed are the peacemakers.”
This is not about avoiding tension.
It’s not about staying quiet.
It’s about stepping into brokenness with the authority of heaven and releasing the shalom of God — wholeness, justice, healing, unity.
This is what the sons of God do.
They carry His likeness.
They speak what He speaks.
They go where others won’t.
And when they arrive — the atmosphere shifts.
🔥 POINT 1: Peacemaking Is a Prophetic Assignment
Peace doesn’t happen on its own.
It’s not the natural drift of humanity.
Left alone, things fall apart. Families divide. Nations fracture. Churches splinter.
But peacemakers — true peacemakers — enter those places like spiritual surgeons.
They listen.
They intercede.
They lay down pride.
They confront lies.
They build bridges with truth and mercy joined together.
Peacemakers speak with fire and gentleness.
They carry the sword and the towel.
They don’t run from conflict — they are sent into it.
Why?
Because the Spirit of the Son is upon them.
“God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself… and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.” — 2 Corinthians 5:19
Peacemakers are not spectators.
They are ambassadors of the cross — the place where justice kissed mercy.
👑 POINT 2: Peacemakers Walk in Sonship
Yeshua said those who make peace will be called sons of God.
Not just believers.
Not just servants.
Not even just disciples.
Sons.
Why?
Because sons carry the heart of the Father.
They don’t just defend the family name — they extend the family table.
They don’t just inherit the kingdom — they represent it.
A son knows how to:
-
Speak peace without compromise
-
Confront injustice without hatred
-
Release forgiveness without fear
-
Carry identity without arrogance
Peacemakers don’t just stop arguments.
They bring restoration.
They see prophetically where healing must begin — and they go first.
That’s what sons do.
That’s what daughters do.
They know who they are — and because of that, they know what they carry.
⚔️ POINT 3: Peacemaking Costs You Everything — and It’s Worth It
To stand in the gap will cost you something.
It may cost you reputation.
It may cost you comfort.
It may cost you the right to be right.
It will cost you time. Tears. Prayer. Surrender.
But what you gain?
Glory.
Authority.
Fruit that lasts.
The name “son of God” spoken over your life.
And most of all — you will see God heal what others thought was beyond repair.
You will see families restored.
Marriages healed.
Churches revived.
Nations softened.
Enemies forgiven.
And Christ revealed.
Why?
Because the Prince of Peace lives in you.
And when His children carry His peace, the world recognizes Him again.
🛐 ALTAR CALL: Step Into the Ministry of Reconciliation
So I ask you today…
Where is God calling you to make peace?
Not just where there’s comfort…
But where there’s conflict.
Where there’s silence.
Where there’s hurt.
He’s not asking you to fix everything.
He’s asking you to go in His name.
To carry His heart.
To speak with His Spirit.
To stand in the middle.
To intercede.
To forgive.
To listen.
To lead.
“Blessed are the peacemakers…”
Not “the peacewishers.”
Not “the peace-hopers.”
The peacemakers.
🙏 PRAYER (Spirit-led Commissioning):
Father…
We receive Your heart today.
Burn away every seed of bitterness.
Silence every voice of fear.
Tear down every dividing wall.
Make us peacemakers.
Not in our strength — but by Your Spirit.
Give us the grace to go where others walk away.
Give us the boldness to speak when silence is easier.
Give us the humility to forgive, even when it’s not deserved.
We say yes to the mantle of reconciliation.
Yes to the ministry of mercy.
Yes to the cross-shaped road that leads to peace.
And we receive the name You give us —
Not servant… not spectator…
Son. Daughter. Peacemaker.
In Yeshua’s name,
Amen.

Welcome to The Heart of Worship.
I’m Darren Winfield — and today, we step into a Beatitude that carries a crown:
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” — Matthew 5:9
Not just peace-lovers.
Not just peacekeepers.
But peacemakers — those who stand in the gap and build bridges where others build walls.
This is one of the highest calls in the kingdom.
Because this Beatitude doesn’t just speak blessing…
It speaks identity.
🎵 [Soft underscore continues]
Host:
When you choose to make peace —
Not by avoiding conflict, but by entering it with grace and truth —
You are reflecting the very heart of the Father.
Yeshua was the ultimate Peacemaker.
He reconciled heaven and earth through the cross.
And now, He calls us to follow in His footsteps.
To carry that same reconciling Spirit…
Into our families.
Our churches.
Our cities.
Even our nations.
Host (gentle, direct):
So let me ask you…
Where is God calling you to make peace?
Where are you being asked to:
-
Lay down pride?
-
Forgive first?
-
Speak truth with love?
-
Heal what others have broken?
It may not be easy.
But it’s holy.
And He says — “Those who make peace… will be called My children.”
🎵 [Music begins to swell slightly — cinematic strings or piano]

Let this song be your response.
Let it commission you afresh.
Not just to feel peace, but to bring it.
Not just to admire the kingdom, but to reflect it.
Because when you carry the peace of Yeshua…
the world sees the Father in you.
